OVERNIGHT & COMMUTER CAMP—AGE 8 AND UP
Saturday June 29 – Wednesday July 3
Resident camper cost: $625
Commuter camper cost: $410
The June camp will provide all of the participants with an excellent opportunity to improve their swimming skills in the four competitive strokes and the associated starts and turns. Campers will have two swimming sessions during the day as well as classroom and dry-land activities. All sessions will include an emphasis on stroke technique and some conditioning. Each day we emphasize one stroke in the lectures, drills and video review. Every swimmer will have an opportunity to have their strokes filmed, viewed and evaluated by our knowledgeable staff.
Prerequisite: This camp is open to any and all with at least one year of competitive swimming experience. This is not a “learn to swim” program.
June Camp Information:
Check in will be on Saturday, June 29th from 11 to 1, in the Southwest Residential Area of UMass. The exact location will be announced and emailed to you once UMass gives us room and dorm assignments. You may download a campus map here. The first swimming session will take place after the check-in has concluded, at approximately 1:30. Check-in is required for both resident and commuter campers. Lunch will not be provided on Saturday.
What to Bring to Camp: Residents must provide all personal articles including pillow, blanket and sheets (the beds are twin extra-long sized), sun block, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste and towels. Campers must bring equipment appropriate for practice: suits, caps, goggles and extra towels. T-shirts, shorts and athletic shoes will also be needed. Kick boards, pull-buoys and other necessary equipment will be supplied by the camp.
Also recommended: A reading lamp, a fan (the rooms are not air-conditioned), and a reliable alarm clock and/or watch.
Each camper will be provided with a Championship Swim Camp t-shirt.
