Age 8 and Up: Technique! Skills! Training!
Commuter Camp: 8:30 am – 5 pm
The camp will provide all of the participants with an excellent opportunity to improve their swimming skills in the four competitive strokes and the associated starts and turns. Campers will have two swimming sessions during the day as well as classroom and dry-land activities. All sessions will include an emphasis on stroke technique and some conditioning. Each day we emphasize one stroke in the lectures, drills and video review. Every swimmer will have an opportunity to have their strokes filmed, viewed and evaluated by our knowledgeable staff. Lectures on dry land training, general nutrition, goal setting and proper race strategies may also be part of the daily program. Overnight campers will also have an evening session to provide further focus on starts and turns.
Campers will be classified and placed into groups according to age and ability. We are no longer offering separate stroke and training camps. As the ability level and age increase we will introduce more training focus to the practices as appropriate. The older campers may also begin to do some basic dry-land exercises. Workouts are designed to incorporate the latest physiological principles and training techniques. The campers are taught not only how to train but why it is good to do it that way. Improving stroke technique is always an important component of each session.
Cost for commuters: $400
Cost for residents: $615
Online registration will begin on March 1, 2018.
